Buying a Lens
Well, I have a Canon Rebel XTi and a modest budget. After performing many searches and reading many reviews the Canon L series seems to be the top piece of glass to get. The 70-200mm f/2.8 L lens is the most versatile but also requires a hefty budget. I have found some on Ebay at $1400. Trying to stay at a cost of under $300, I did find the 70-300mm 4/5.6 IS by Canon. The older 75-300mm f/4-5.6 is also available but has a slower AF, poorer build quality, and heavier than the 70-300mm. Atleast thats what read. I have put some bids on Ebay. Let's see what happens. I consider myself a nature, wildlife photographer. I know i am giving up depth of field for this and won't get the great, crisp, clean, tact photos i desire. Let me play around some more and get some more finances to upgrade. This is one of the benefits of digital camera's and Ebay. Lenses can hold some value. This is good so as we grow out of lenses it is easier to upgrade without collecting a bunch of glass.
